Earlier this year, Montreal's the Besnard Lakes unveiled their score for the interactive online documentary Welcome to Pine Point. If you weren't willing to click through the website every time you wanted to listen to the tunes, then the band now have a solution: the Besnard Lakes will be releasing the score as a twelve-inch EP called You Lived in the City.
The release will be out September 20 via Jagjaguwar. In addition to the band's Welcome to Pine Point score, it will contain a previously unreleased outtake called "The Corner." This song was originally written for the new film Memories Corner (scored by the Besnard Lakes), but it didn't make the cut.
You Lived in the City will be available by mail order and also at the merch table when the group hit the road with Malajube this fall for a Canada-heavy North American tour. See the schedule below.
In case you missed it the first time around, Welcome to Pine Point is a web documentary about a defunct mining town in the Northwest Territories. It was inspired by co-creator Michael Simons's trip to Pine Point as a child. Check it out here.
As previously reported, the Besnard Lakes' score for Mark Ruffalo's Sympathy for Delicious was released earlier this month.
