Between the Buried and Me

Colors Live

BY Dave SynyardPublished Jan 26, 2009

Any attempt to top Between The Buried and Me's last release, Colors, is completely foolish, unless you were to have a striking live recording of said album. This is the ultimate CD/DVD package for anyone who knows how mesmerizing and menacing this album is. Sure, a live release seems like a way to keep their name afloat without offering anything new but Colors Live is a colossal maze of progressive metal recorded in Rocketown Nashville, Tennessee, in the highest quality. If you think sitting in your room and playing Colors front to back is amazing then watching BTBAM play it live is like viewing the most metal art exhibit a gallery could offer. The DVD counterpart is the best and most tasty icing. Other extras include a short doc, a photo gallery and a few other items, but they fall short in quality by comparison. In no way, shape or form is this anything but pure genius.
