Last week, Beyoncé went ahead and announced that her new album Renaissance — her first solo studio album since 2016's Lemonade — would be arriving on July 29.
Despite there being a now-sold-out Renaissance boxset (complete with a CD, T-shirt, photo booklet and poster) available for pre-order on her website, details on the album were slim to none. But it looks like we'll be getting our first taste of it soon — according to Beyoncé's recently-updated Instagram bio, her new single "BREAK MY SOUL" is arriving tonight at midnight ET.
The subtle announcement is accompanied by a handful of new outtakes from Beyoncé's recent British Vogue shoot, in which Edward Enninful somewhat-cryptically described the upcoming album as featuring "soaring vocals and fierce beats."
Beyoncé hasn't done this sort of semi-traditional album rollout in nearly a decade, but I guess you can only rewire the entire music industry so many times before you go back to the tried and true method.
