Dave Bidini has been a staple in the Canadian music scene for decades thanks to his work with the Rheostatics, not to mention his books and plays. The singer's most recent new endeavour is his Bidiniband, who will release their second album this week via Pheromone Recordings. Entitled In the Rock Hall, you can stream the whole thing right now.
Recorded in a swift six day session, the band made an "expressive, white-hot rock'n'roll statement," according to the press release, with a live-off-the-floor style and only a single guitar overdub.
In the Rock Hall gets its name from a poem by the late Paul Quarrington (Whale Music), and its lyrical concerns include "pirates, war, dating, travel, the Smurfs, engines, the waterways, and movie-making."
Listen for all of that and more in the streaming player below. In the Rock Hall is due out on January 24.
