Big Boi Says No New Outkast Album Is in the Works

Rap fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Outkast, particularly since the beloved rap duo have announced a Toronto gig at Drake's OVO Fest. Unfortunately, this reunion tour is all we're likely to hear from André 3000 and Big Boi anytime soon, since the latter has quashed hopes for a new album.

When asked about the likelihood of a new LP, Big Boi told Revolt, "No, no, no. We're just doing the tour only, just for the fans. That's all it is, just the tour."

He continued, "It's just the Outkast 20th year anniversary, just a way for us to celebrate with our fans, but there's no album in the works, no."

This is particularly disappointing since rumours about a new Outkast album have been swirling for years. While they promised back in 2009 that an album was on the way, they've since denied that anything is in the works. Sadly, it doesn't seem that their reunion has changed anything.

On the bright side, Big Boi said he's involved in a mixtape inspired by Game of Thrones. "I think it'll be out in the next couple of weeks," he said, "We got Common, Wale doing something, and I'm doing a track as well on there. And a couple surprise guests."

Outkast have promised to tour to more than 40 festivals this year and already have several fest dates lined up. You can see all those here.
