Icelandic oddball Björk previously teamed up with David Attenborough for a nature-themed documentary inspired by her 2011 cross-platform project Biophilia. Now, that album is spawning another film in the form of the concert flick Björk: Biophilia Live.
The film was directed by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland, and it will make its world premiere at New York's Tribeca Film Festival on April 26.
Judging by the description from the Hollywood Reporter, this is more than your average concert documentary, since performance footage is mixed "with evocative animation from apps created by the world's top designers combined with science and nature archives and found footage."
Other music documentaries slated to appear at Tribeca include the Nas film Time Is Illmatic and an as-yet-untitled movie about James Brown. The latter is a work in process that's different from the impending biopic about the Godfather of Soul.
In related Björk news, the aforementioned When Björk Met Attenborough documentary will be released on DVD on May 5 through One Little Indian. The label's website notes that it will be issued "internationally," meaning that there will hopefully be a version that works on North American DVD players.
