Black Sabbath Unveil '13' Cover Art, Tease New Song

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 4, 2013

Following Black Sabbath's big reveal last month that their new set 13 is due June 11 via Vertigo/Universal, the gloom metal pioneers have now served up its scorching accompanying artwork.

The image unveils itself in reverse in a new trailer for the LP, with a flame-flying monument of twigs eventually reconstructing itself into the number 13. This is scored both by the pop and crackle of the pyre, as well as the sounds of a tune from the metal crew.

As the mini-clip closes out, we hear Ozzy Osbourne howl atop some crunchy riffing: "Nowhere to run/Nowhere to hide." Interpret the specifics of the couplet how you will, but on the surface level, the trailer notes the wait for the LP is almost over. A tracklisting has yet to appear for 13.

As previously reported, 13 is the band's first record since 1978's Never Say Die! to feature Osbourne on vocals, and the first since 1994's Cross Purposes to feature bassist Geezer Butler.

Also, Black Sabbath are heading to Toronto as part of some global dates this year. You can find out more info on their travel plans over here.
