Last year, Vancouver metal stalwarts Black Wizard released a new track and promised that a new album was on the way. Sure enough, they have officially confirmed the details of Young Wisdom, which will drop on June 28.
This is the band's first album since they went on a brief hiatus after guitarist Johnny de Courcy quit the group back in 2011. They underwent another recent lineup change this spring, as bassist Kyle Fee left and was replaced by Evan Joel. Black Wizard wrote on their blog, "We wish Kyle well, he just wasn't so into it anymore."
Young Wisdom was recorded with Michael Kraushaar at Bullys Studios in the Vancouver outskirt of New Westminster. The tracklist is below and the cover artwork is above. Scroll past the tracklist to hear the previously unveiled "H.U.G.H," plus the title track, both of which preserve the band's classic hard rock sound.
Black Wizard will play a hometown release show on June 28 at the Rickshaw Theatre. Hoopsnake and Wiser Fool are also on the bill
