Bay Area hip-hop duo Blackalicious announced a return of sorts earlier this year via a reissue of their Melodica, but the group officially get back to modern times early next year with some tour dates.
Gift of Gab and DJ Excel will head out on the road in January for a quick run of dates that will bring them from Colorado, to California, and then up to British Columbia. Canuck fans will be treated to performances at Victoria's Sugar Nightclub on February 1 and Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club February 3. You can peep the schedule down below.
Back in the summer, Blackalicious said they would be dropping a new single called "Blacka," a piece that was touted as "the first song in a wave of long-anticipated new music," but the song has still not arrived despite a promised July 31 due date. The duo's last album was 2005's The Craft.
Tour dates:
1/17-18 Denver, CO - Marquis Theater
1/19 Aspen, CO - Belly Up
1/25 Oakland, CA - The New Parish
1/26 Petaluma, CA - The Phoenix Theatre
2/1 Victoria, BC - Sugar Nightclub
2/3 Vancouver, BC - Fortune Sound Club
3/2 Sacramento, CA - Harlow's
