Blair Packham (Jitters, Arlene Bishop) is a firm believer in all things pop, and has the self-production chops to pull off sonic soundscapes with (Matthew) sweet layered harmonies and rich textures. Not to mention the odd (or Odds) seemingly sure-fire single, like the title track. Packham's focus works best in the quietest moments, on songs like "I Don't Know," "She Just Is" and "Crying a River For You," where it doesn't sound like he's trying as hard as on the dense rockers. Stellar playing from many of Toronto's leading lights help flesh out Packham's sugar rush.
