Earlier this month, Dev Hynes announced plans to release his latest Blood Orange record, Freetown Sound. It was originally scheduled to arrive on July 1, but he's given listeners an early treat, releasing the the album ahead of time this morning (June 28).
As previously reported, the 17-song set hears Hynes exploring issues of race, religion, sex and sexism. The title was taken from his father's hometown of Freetown, Sierra Leone.
In addition to sharing the previously mum tracklisting, Hynes has also revealed a number of guests that appear of Freetown Sound. There are quotes from Vince Staples, Venus Xtravaganza, Ashlee Haze and De La Soul, as well as featured spots from Ava Raiin, Empress Of, Debbie Harry, Bea1991, Starchild, Ian Isiah, Nelly Furtado, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Kelsey Lu, Carly Rae Jepsen and Zuri Marley.
