JAY-Z and Beyoncé's first-born child Blue Ivy Carter has won her first musical accolade, taking home the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award at the BET Soul Train Awards last night (November 17) for "Brown Skin Girl."

The seven-year-old was credited along with her mom and dad, Saint Jhn and a number of other songwriters.

The song originally appeared on Beyoncé's Lion King companion album, The Gift, and in addition to Blue and Bey's vocals, it also features singing by Saint Jhn and Wizkid.

Blue Ivy Carter has to be the youngest recipient of the Soul Train award, but she could make even more history when the Grammy Awards nominees are announced on Wednesday (November 20).

Previously, she earned the honour of being the youngest person to appear on the Billboard charts, thanks to a cameo on JAY-Z's "Glory."
