Whether it was premeditated or just so happened to coincide with the press cycle for A Complete Unknown, we may never know — but Bob Dylan's perplexing social media presence as of late certainly has been something! What began over on the platform formerly known as Twitter with some parody-worthy non sequiturs, as well as heaps of praise for Nick Cave and Timothée Chalamet, then evolved into Dylan (or his team) jumping on the TikTok bandwagon days before the app was (almost) banned in the US.

In what must be the only natural progression possible, the songwriter's newfound penchant for posting has now made its way to Instagram. Presented without comment last night (February 26), Dylan shared a video of an acoustic Machine Gun Kelly in-store performance at Park Ave. CDs in Orlando, FL, from 2016. The clip sees MGK performing "Blue Skies" from the 2015 mixtape Fuck It.

As one might expect, the comments section is a mixed bag. Kelly himself wrote, "you having a phone is so rad," while his pal Mod Sun declared this unexpected crossover episode to be his "favourite thing that's ever happened on the internet." Other commenters have hypothesized that Dylan must have mistaken Kelly for Chalamet, while another incisively quipped, "Mom, Bob Dylan has the iPad again."

An explanation at this point feels unlikely, but we were probably never meant to understand. Check out Dylan's post for yourself below.
