Last year, some famous collaborators got together to record an album's worth of newly discovered Bob Dylan lyrics dating back to 1967, and the results were released as Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes. The project was filmed for a Showtime documentary called Lost Songs – The Basement Tapes Continued, which aired back in the fall, and now it is getting released through Eagle Rock Entertainment on May 26.

The film will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats. It was directed by Sam Jones (who also directed Wilco's 2002 doc I Am Trying to Break Your Heart), and it features New Basement Tapes collaborators T Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons), Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops) and Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes).

According to a press release, "The film presents an exclusive and intimate look at the making of the Lost on the River album set against the important and historical cultural backdrop of Bob Dylan and the Band's original The Basement Tapes." It includes an interview with Bob Dylan, and we can also expect to see actor Johnny Depp (who played some guitar during the sessions).

The DVD includes the bonus tracks "Diamond Ring," "Down on the Bottom," "Hidee Hidee Ho #16," "Kansas City," "Six Months in Kansas City (Liberty Street)" and "The Whistle Is Blowing."
