Bob Mould has spent time on a number of labels over the years -- SST, Anti-, Warner Bros. -- and the iconic indie rock musician will spice things up again when he releases his next solo set through his new home, Merge Records.
Not much is known about the as-yet-untitled LP just yet, but a press release explains that Mould and his current backing band (Superchunk drummer Jon Wurster and Telekinesis's Jason Narducy) already wrapped up recording sessions. It's expected to drop sometime in the fall. Mould's last LP was 2009's Life and Times.
Before Mould pumps out the new platter, he will be revisiting his masterwork Copper Blue by his old '90s pop unit Sugar for a series of concerts. Last month, Mould and co. played the 1992 album from front to back at San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival, and they'll do the same at SXSW on March 17.
