Soul singer Bobby Womack is preparing to release his new Damon Albarn and Richard Russell-produced album The Bravest Man in the Universe on June 12 via XL Recordings, but we've got a taste of some new non-abum material already.
So far we've heard the title track and "Please Forgive My Heart" and now, a new version of "Please Forgive My Heart" -- dubbed as the 'funk' version -- has been released, and while it still features Albarn and Russell's production, it's a sped-up, rave-friendly new take on the track.
If you're expecting something along the lines of old-school funk, note that the 'funk version' label is a bit of a misnomer. Nevertheless, it's still worth a listen and you can check it out below.
