Bonjay Ready Mini-Album for October Release

BY Josiah HughesPublished Aug 25, 2010

When Toronto-based electro/dancehall group Bonjay tore up the stage at our 18th anniversary party earlier this year, we were instantly in love. The duo, composed of singer Alanna Stuart and producer Ian "Pho" Swain, cannot be stopped when it comes to getting clubs moving, and that's why is great that they have revealed plans for the follow-up to their genre-bending EPs Gimmee Gimmee and Bangarang Business.

The new release is being labelled a "mini-album" and is called Broughtupsy. According to a press release, "Broughtupsy never sacrifices the fun despite its intelligence. The album is full of experimentation (both musical and vocal), transfixing melodies, and beats that defy classification but are sure to invade headphones and speakers worldwide."

Broughtupsy will be available on October 5, and the album track "Stumble" can be heard here. In addition to the new release, Bonjay have two scheduled shows. Both dates are below.

 Tour dates:

9/30 Montreal, QC - Jupiter Room (Pop Montreal)

10/7 Toronto, ON - The Garrison (CD release show)
