Long-running New Jersey pop punks the Bouncing Souls have released a ton of tunes since forming in the late '80s, so much, in fact, that you're bound to miss out at least a couple of your favourite numbers if you head out to one of their shows. The Souls are set to rectify this problem, though, via the announcement of a new tour that will see them playing all eight of their full-length albums for four night-stints across the globe.
A post on the group's site explains that, throughout the year, they will be hunkering down in select cities to play the bulk of their discography.
"We're going to invade some of our favorite cities for a series of 4-night stands planned in some very intimate venues and play almost every song we ever wrote: Two records a night, in chronological order," the post reads. "That means all your favorite songs as well as all the lost causes and forgotten songs you've always wanted to hear live, but we never remembered how to play. Come on out and sing along."
So, if ever you wanted to hear the group's catalogue from front to back, maybe it's time to start planning your vacation this year. If you can't afford all four nights, might we suggest the opening evening in each city of The Good, The Bad And the Argyle and Maniacal Laughter if only to hear classic smart-ass songs like "I Like Your Mom" and "The BMX Song."
Pre-sale tickets for the Chicago and Boston stints, which both take place this July, will go on sale through the group's Chunksaah Records website on March 29, with details on the rest of the dates to come. You can check out the tour schedule below.
UPDATE: The Bouncing Souls have just announced an upcoming show at Toronto's Phoenix Theatre on June 17, but the one-night stand suggests we might not be getting the full discography treatment. Bummer. If you try and keep your requests sequentially accurate, though, and it'll kind of be the same, right?
Tour dates:
6/9-12 Chicago, IL - Reggie's
6/22-25 Boston, MA - Middle East
7/6-9 New York, NY - Highline Ballroom
7/13-16 Philadelphia, PA - Church
8/1-4 London, England - Islington Academy
8/9-12 Vienna, Austria - Arena
9/28-10/1 Denver, CO - Marquis
11/9-12 Los Angeles, CA - Troubador
