Braids

"Hossak"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 31, 2013

Braids' much-anticipated sophomore set Flourish//Perish LP is getting another boost, with the band now streaming the set's apparently pizza-fueled "Hossak."

Unless we're totally misinterpreting Raphaelle Standell-Preston's timid tale, the song describes a guy coming to her window with a steamin' slice of 'za in his hands and "acid in his tum-tum." We're guessing that piece was loaded with hot and spicy peppers. Like an Alka-Seltzer exploding into a glass of water, the song's lightly-brushed military snare roll and music-box miming synth flourishes cascade into a fizzy wall of white noise. You can sample the savoury single down below.

As previously reported, Flourish//Perish arrives which will be released August 20 through Flemish Eye/Arbutus/Full Time Hobby.
