Braids Announce North American Tour, Plot Debut Full-Length

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 6, 2010

Originally from Calgary, indie rock quartet Braids made a mass migration to Montreal in 2008. Since then, they've been hard at work on the follow-up to their debut EP, Set Pieces. But before putting the final touches on their upcoming record, they will be heading out on a Canada-heavy North American tour.

The tour kicks off in Toronto on May 20, and after a brief dip into the United States continues through Ontario to Manitoba and Saskatchewan. When they arrive in Edmonton, they'll meet up with fellow Alberta ex-pat Gobble Gobble, who will join them for the western leg of the tour. The whole thing will conclude with an epic homecoming show at Sled Island.

While details are scarce on the band's debut full-length, we know that it will be called Native Speaker, and that it will be released this fall.
