Brian Jonestown Massacre took us on a psychedelic trip down memory lane on last year's The Singles Collection (1992-2011), but many fans were left wondering when the collective would let loose the follow-up to their epic 2010 affair, Who Killed Sgt. Pepper? Though the details are scarce, the band have revealed that their next platter, titled Aufheben, will arrive this spring.
According to a press release, bandleader Anton Newcombe and his ever-changing cast of contributors will deliver the disc May 1 on 'a' Records/Redeye Distribution. A tracklisting and cover have yet to pop up for the album, but if all goes according to plan, the band should be trotting out the new numbers on their upcoming North American tour.
As you can see in the schedule below, the spring trip will see them playing a series of dates in April down in the U.S., including a Canadian stop tentatively schedule at Vancouver's Venue on May 3. Don't fret if your city is not listed yet, though, the press sheet assures that more tour dates will be unveiled in the near future.
Tour dates:
4/27 Dallas, TX - Granada Theatre
4/28 Houston, TX - Fitzgeralds
4/29 Austin, TX - Psych Fest
5/3 Vancouver, BC - The Venue (To Be Confirmed)
5/4 Seattle, WA - Neptune Theatre
