Brian May Unveils "New Horizons" for NASA Space Mission

Queen's Brian May has unveiled a new song called "New Horizons" for NASA's ongoing mission of the same name. It marks May's first new solo material in more than 20 years — and his first since earning a PhD in astrophysics in 2007.

The track was unveiled early yesterday (January 1) at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, and it coincides with NASA's New Horizons spacecraft setting a new record for the most distant spacecraft flyby ever — receiving information from a space body 6.5 million km from Earth.

The spacecraft is affectionately referred to as Ultima Thule, and May has fittingly applied the nickname to his own song.
