British Sea Power Announce New LP: 'Machineries of Joy'

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 25, 2013

After busying themselves with an EP series that lasted throughout 2012, UK indie pop sensations British Sea Power have announced plans to release a fifth album.

The follow up to 2011's Valhalla Dancehall, the latest British Sea Power effort is called Machineries of Joy. A track with that name appeared on one of their 2012 EPs, which could serve as an indicator that they'll be using material from those releases for the new full-length.

There aren't many details on the release just yet, but we do know that it'll be out in the UK on April 1 via Rough Trade. Presumably, that means it'll be out in North America on April 2.

UPDATE: The album is due out on April 9 in North America.

The band are also working on scheduling some tour dates. For now, they've got a run of UK shows, the schedule for which can be viewed here.
