Britney Spears Concert Delays Labor Party Election in Israel

Though Britney Spears has been known to encourage political participation by telling concertgoers to "vote, bitch!," the pop star won't be delivering the same message to members of the Israeli Labor Party, which has moved its primary election due to Spears's performance.

As JerusalemOnline reports, the political party has opted to delay its leadership election by one day so that it wouldn't fall on the same day as Spears's concert in Tel Aviv on July 3.

The publication points out that though the pop star wasn't mentioned by name, the party's announcement read that "the election date was delayed by one day due to the fact that there is a major event at Yarkon Park on July 3, 2017."

The site reports that the decision was made in order to "make it easier" for party members to reach polling stations. There were also apparently security concerns due to having the two events on the same day.

Spears's performance in Tel Aviv will mark her first-ever performance in the country.
