Broken Social Scene made their long-awaited return with Hug of Thunder earlier this month, and now "Vanity Pail Kids" from that record has been treated to a music video.
The clip was written and directed by the band's own Kevin Drew, and it features a literal toilet in the studio. When the can hits the bar for a well-deserved drink, we realize that it's not just the producer living his life from beneath a garbage bag.
We get a glimpse at society as human trash bags (with everyone still staring at their phones, though, obviously), before the toilet and a trio of urinals take a trip to the desert and get real. As you watch, feel free to extrapolate your own metaphors about the garbage world going to shit.
