We don't have hoverboards or robot slaves quite yet, but 2011 is proving to be pretty futuristic so far with a number of live concerts being streamed over the Internet. Last week, Iron & Wine's Sam Beam played his upcoming album Kiss Each Other Clean in its entirety over a live radio and web broadcast. Now, Broken Social Scene have announced a stream of their upcoming New York show happening via YouTube.

The concert is taking place on New York's Terminal 5 on Tuesday (January 18) but fans of the band all over the world can get in on the action thanks to the Bowery Presents, who will be hosting the event on their YouTube channel.

The swarm of guitars, beards and sweaty Canadian bodies will take the stage at Terminal 5 at 9 p.m. EST, so make sure you factor in your time zone and tune in then. Below, you can watch a video of BSSer Brendan Canning announcing the event.
