As the dead of winter sets in good and proper, the many guys and gals of Bruce Peninsula are staying warm by keeping busy. Not only does the 12-member-strong collective of leftfield folk traditionalists have their debut album A Mountain Is a Mouth due out February 3, but the Toronto outfit also have a pile of newly announced tour dates slated for this winter.
With often three drummers and five-woman choir in tow, Bruce Peninsula will take the sounds of their upcoming full-length across their home province, hitting up several Ontario towns and throwing in one stop in Montreal for good measure. And while it's hard to guarantee that all the group's many collaborators will be at each and every show, the band are likely to leave a lasting impression. (Click here for a detailed account of how one spiritually charged Bruce Peninsula show recently went down.)
There's no word yet if Bruce Peninsula plan to go west, but the entire country will have the chance to check out A Mountain Is a Mouth, which was recorded by this army of musicians in the sanctuary of St. George the Martyr church, the basement of a Toronto university and six other rooms in the city.
