Bruce Springsteen Apologizes for Cancelled NYC Show with Free Concert Download

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 25, 2016

Bruce Springsteen may be the Boss, but he had no control over winter storm Jonas this weekend. The rock'n'roller was forced to cancel his January 24 show at New York's Madison Square Garden because of the blizzard, but he's offered up some compensation in the form of a free downloadable concert.

The audio footage comes from a recent show in Chicago, recorded on January 19. Like the rest of the dates on this tour, it hears Springsteen and his E-Street Band performing The River in its entirety, followed by an epic encore that includes a tribute to the Eagles' Glen Frey, who passed away the evening before the show.

You can head over here to download a copy of the concert, to be enjoyed in the hopefully snow-free comfort of your own home. It will be up for grabs until tomorrow evening (January 26) at 8 p.m., so head over and check it out now.

Below, watch some audience-shot footage of the band's "Take It Easy" cover.
