The Boss has been branching out lately. First Bruce Springsteen made his co-directorial debut with a short film for his song "Hunter of Invisible Game," and then he announced a children's book, and now he's reportedly taken on an acting role in the Netflix gangster drama Lilyhammer.
The show is about a New York gangster who starts a new life after going into witness protection in Norway, and it's no mystery as to how the New Jersey rocker came to be involved, since it stars E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt (who was also a regular on The Sopranos).
According to Deadline, Springsteen will be making a guest appearance as a mortuary owner. It doesn't look like this will be a recurring role, but it's significant nonetheless, since the singer hasn't doesn't much acting before. He did, of course, make a brief but memorable cameo as himself in High Fidelity.
This will be part of Lilyhammer's upcoming third season, which is slated to come to Netflix later this year.
