What to do with a mass of live recordings done over a period of a few years and 60 gigs? Well, you could make a turgid box set of anal-retentive packaging or you could make a monumental, hour-long mash-up. But not just any mash-up of "best ofs," but an actual composed work utilising elements of each as much as colours on a palette or samples in a hard drive. C. Spencer Yeh has created the same in this four-segment epic of squalling, pulsing sound interspersed with cinematic drone landscapes and populated by alien recitation, brass sections and electronic smog. This is unremitting and rewarding, for those with the stamina.
