Surprise, surprise: Raekwon's Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang album never arrived on its reported September release date. Instead, the record has been postponed to sometime next year. While normally we would complain that the ambiguous release date isn't enough, Raekwon has fed our appetites by dropping a single from the album.
The track is called "Butter Knives," and it definitely hints at a high-quality album, boasting classic Wu production complete with kung fu samples, a nice mid-tempo beat and an eerie organ, while Rae's lyrical delivery maintains it's inimitable flow. "Butter Knives" is welcome proof that Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang not only exists but will help maintain Raekwon's recent winning streak.
