Carrie Brownstein is best known as a founding member of Sleater-Kinney and one of the stars of Portlandia, but she can now add author to her already impressive resumé. The artist's memoir, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, was released this week, and Brownstein appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (October 27) to promote the new book.
On the show, she discusses her jobs of "rocking out" and "making people laugh," as well as talking about the concept of being cool. She even stuck around for a sketch called "Somber Grrrl," in which she sings a hilarious original 16th Century folk song called "The Hunter and His Pallid Bride."
