Despite its brevity, Please Come Back presents a strong collection of mournful and soulful songs. Named after a trailer park in Missouri where singer/guitarist George Hunter spent part of his childhood, Chicagos Catfish Haven do an impressive job on this EP, offering compelling tunes throughout. The trio blend mod, indie and bar rock influences with rich, soul tones. Please Come Back shows the strength of Hunters voice, which features more depth and range than many other indie rock singers. Catfish Havens keen ability to shift gears from upbeat material to slow, aching ballads also helps make their EP a solid listen.
