When a band has released as many albums as Cathedral, putting together a greatest hits package can be a very tough thing to do. With the band having now moved labels to Spitfire and recently released one of their best records in a long time, it is nice to look back at those early songs that made the UK doom band so special to begin with. The double disc features a greatest hits collection on the first disc and some unreleased songs in the second one (demos, live tracks, etc). Having heard only the best of since the rarities were not included in the promo pack I have to say that the selection of the songs is definitely decent. The first CD clocks in at more than 70 minutes, offering fans of the band good value for their money. Its a decent album and even the fans who have all the releases of the band should find more than enough gems within the rarities disc to keep them interested. Having said that, the omissions of songs such as "Night of The Seagulls is a disappointment too.
