English doom metal kings Cathedral are set to issue their last-ever LP The Last Spire on April 30 through Metal Blade, but the band's swan song begins now via a leak of new single "Tower of Silence."
While fitting in with the rest of the sludgey English titans' output, the song oddly conjures early Life of Agony with its muscular detuned lead riff and slow-mo mosh rhythm. Lee Dorrian tackles the tune with cries and moans about lurking in the shadows of society and never quite fitting in with the "fucked-up system," while a right ripping stoner rock solo scorches the earth in the midsection.
