Windsor, ON-based noise rockers Cellos' last new release arrived with the "Standard and Poor" 7-inch back in 2014, but the band are back and ready to unleash a brand new LP. Before The Great Leap Backward is officially released on August 4, Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to the album in its entirety.
The latest album was recorded at Sound Foundry Studios in Kingsville, ON, by Brett Humber. And while it still captures the band's trademark layers of distorted sound and pounding percussion, they've highlighted a "refined sense of dynamics and vocal melody" this time around.
The Great Leap Backward will be treated to release on coloured vinyl via Harbour House Records and on cassette via No List Records. Give it a digital spin right now, though, in the player below.
Cellos will also play a hometown record release show at the Rondo in Windsor on August 4.
