In a rare trip across the pond, one-time Britpop heros the Charlatans are playing a select series of North American dates, two of which are in Canada. On September 23, Tim Burgess & Co. will pop by Toronto to play the city's Mod Club, with a date set for the previous day in London, ON. There's one U.S. date in Philadelphia also included on the band's tour sked, but so far, these are all the Charlatans dates announced so far in North America.
As reported last year, the Charlatans released their tenth studio album, You Cross My Path, in 2008 for the price of free. They did eventually put out a proper physical version of the record, but you can still download it via the link here.
At the time, actor-turned-rapper Joaquin Phoenix delivered this awesome quote about the album: "Holy fucking shit, the Charlatans record is mega. A real beauty. I can't wait to see it live." So hey, if you're lucky maybe you'll see Phoenix and his beard at one of these upcoming shows, and if you're really lucky, he'll maybe do some freestylin' and fall off a stage or something.
