Charlotte Cardin is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter who released her most recent EP, Main Girl, in September. The Montreal native, who competed on the Quebec singing competition La Voix, gave us a tour of her favourite hometown spots. Location photos by Nadia Davoli.
Café Olimpico (124 Rue Saint Viateur O.)
My favourite coffee shop in Mile End, it's a small Italian spot with really delicious coffee. Out back is a huge terrace that is the perfect spot to relax in the summer — a Mile End classic where everyone from the neighbourhood comes to hang out.
La Buvette chez Simone (4869 Avenue du Parc)
Simply the best wine bar in Montreal. The ambience is perfect and the staff always add new wines on the menu — [it] never gets boring.
Ibiki (4357 Boul. St. Laurent)
Really cool shop on St. Laurent where there's a ton of original items — clothes, magazines, candles, etc.
Luciano Trattoria (1212 Rue Saint-Zotique E.)
The best Italian restaurant in Montreal, located in the heart of Villeray. The food is traditional but refined, the wine menu is awesome and the staff are really friendly.
Librairie Le port de tête (262 Avenue du Mont-Royal E.)
Very cute bookstore on Mont-Royal where you can buy new and used books. They always have the best editions, the most beautiful books, and it's really easy to lose time wandering around and getting lost in books.
Yoga Moksha (3863 Boul. Saint-Laurent)
My favourite place to do hot yoga in Montreal. The staff are so nice and the teachers are really caring and warm.
