The Chieftains Get Bon Iver, Decemberists, T Bone Burnett for New Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 22, 2011

Traditional Irish folk outfit the Chieftains have been a band for almost 50 years now, and the group are celebrating the milestone early next year by adding some young blood to their next record. A press release explains that the classic Celtic music outfit have tapped Bon Iver and the Decemberists for the upcoming Voice of Ages.

Set to be released February 21 through Hear Music/Concord Music Group, the album is touted as featuring collaborations with "like-minded musical visionaries and kindred spirits."

While a tracklisting has yet to be unveiled, other guests set to show up include the Civil Wars, Paolo Nutini, Imelda May, the Low Anthem and the Secret Sisters. T Bone Burnett also pops up on the production side of things, having manned the boards with the Chieftains' Paddy Moloney.

The Chieftains will also be hitting up the U.S. around the time Voice of Ages hits shelves. No Canadian dates have been announced, but you can check the schedule below.
