Chilly Gonzales Announces "First-Ever All-Orchestral Rap Album and Live Show"

Canadian-born Paris resident Chilly Gonzales is truly one of the most interesting artists on our current radar. Aside from collaborations with the likes of Jamie Lidell, Beck and Feist, Gonzales has flirted with a love of rap music through mixtapes, some tracks on his 2010 album Ivory Tower and an onstage collaboration with Drake at the 2011 Junos. Now, he will outdo himself with The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales.

Described as "the first-ever all-orchestral rap album and live show," The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales sees Gonzales reveal himself through hip-hop-esque monologues atop "Hollywood swells, tympani rolls, noble French horns, hypnotizing bells and influenced by Prokofiev, Morricone and Phillip Glass," according to the press release.

Arts & Crafts will issue The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales as a digital-only release on June 7. A four-minute mix of the album called "The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales Suite" can be downloaded here.


 As for the live portion of the project, Gonzales will take this show on the road with a chamber orchestra. For now, the tour is in Europe only. All dates are available here.
