When he's not collaborating with the likes of Feist, Drake or Daft Punk, Canadian piano god Chilly Gonzales usually has some solo tricks up his sleeve. After releasing an instructional piano book last year, the artist is back with a new proper album.
Called Chambers, the new LP follows Gonzales' last solo album Solo Piano II as well as Octave Minds, a collaborative album he completed with Boys Noize. As its title suggets, Chambers is all about a modern approach to chamber music.
A press release explains that the album "re-imagines Romantic-era chamber music as today's addictive pop," adding that "gestures from rap, ambient, easy listening and the avant-garde co-exist as always in Chilly Gonzales' musical universe — this time with strings attached. "
Chambers doesn't have a set release date just yet, but the album can be previewed with a brief trailer, available below.
