In honour of International Transgender Day of Visibility, Exclaim! Class of 2025 alum Chinese Medicine have announced their sophomore EP The Trans Agenda, out May 16 via Twin Fang Records.
"It felt like the perfect time to announce this album," bandleader Juno Hailey shared in a release. "Beyond the obvious connection to its name and content, this is also a moment for me to share my journey in my own voice — making myself visible, so to speak. I've always been scared of being a visibly trans woman in public, and this album represents me reaching the top of that hill and standing tall, proud to be seen."
The record is said to "[double] down on their uncompromising ethos, thrashing through themes of otherness, systemic corruption, and trans identity with razor-sharp precision," while new single "Acetone" explores "the strange and visceral ways we process trauma."
Listen to that below, where you can also find the EP's tracklist (including a featuring from Twin Fang labelmates and fellow former Class Of grads, Shiv and the Carvers), as well as Chinese Medicine's upcoming tour dates.
