This solid third release from Hamilton guitar-rock quartet Chrome Yellow Co. confirms the bands reputation as one of the tightest, most consistent acts currently at large on the Steel Town scene. Produced by Chore guitarist Chris Bell, the disc is rife with catchy, classic pop melodies at times reminiscent of early Guided By Voices, and complex, layered guitar work that occasionally meanders into shoegazing psych-rock territory. Strong vocal performances by front-man Luca Ciardello (who sounds as though he could pull off a convincing impersonation of By Divine Rights Jose Contreras) are the norm throughout the CDs svelte seven-track program, the briefness of which constitutes the packages only inherent disappointment.
