Toronto-by-way-of-Montreal songwriter Cinzia & the Eclipse has returned with her second single of the year. "Back to Being Friends" finds a balance between heartbreak and optimism.
The hooky indie pop track is another look at the musician's upcoming EP Springland, which is aptly arriving this spring. It follows June's single "Just for Fun."
"'Back to Being Friends' is a song I wrote when I was heartbroken, but had nothing but love for this person," Cinzia tells Exclaim! "It's a song for anyone who's trying to get back to a sense of normalcy following a tough breakup because you don't want to lose someone. It was a very difficult song to write that took over a year."
While we wait for Springland, revisit our review of Cinzia & the Eclipse's 2020 EP, Little Italy.
