A frequent visitor to Alberta's capital, City and Colour is no stranger to the citizens of Edmonton. Founder Dallas Green found himself on the end of a warm welcome during his main stage performance at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival; armed with an acoustic guitar, Green would perform solo for much of his set, touching on a wide selection of songs from his repertoire.

At the centre of the stripped-down and simple acoustic set was Green's tender and compassionate vocal delivery; that may not have made for the most exhilarating act of the fest, but the crowd were firmly on his side, singing along to many well-known fan favourites like "We Found Each Other in the Dark" and "If I Should Go Before You," despite now being in the midst of a massive rain storm.

Green took the poor weather as an opportunity to get up close and personal with the front section of the crowd, as he ventured off the stage and allowed the rain to cascade over him while playing the tail end of his set and asking for audience help to sing the final song, "Sleeping Sickness," before making his exit for the night.
