Thanks to a generous review by Pitchfork, Brooklyn's Clap Your Hands Say Yeah recently became indie's newest darlings. Still unsigned and distributing their excellent self-titled album on their own, the band's hard work is definitely worth it as this album closer proves. "Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood" is an amalgam of delicious reference points: the swooning romanticism of Marr and Morrissey, lightly brushed Eno-esque synths and some yammering vocals of Jeff Mangum in that awkward yelp of Hefner's Darren Hayman. CYHSY will be making their Canadian debut playing early September gigs in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. (clapyourhandssayyeah.com/mp3/Tidal_Wave.mp3)
