The Clutters’ second full-length provides a range of songs that manage to deftly blend together blasts of new wave pop with amphetamine-laced blues rock. With the organ turned up high in the mix, the Nashville-based group’s sound veers from upbeat, melodic tunes such as "Aww, C’mon” and "Radio” to the floor-stomping menace of "Fire” and "Temperature.” Don’t Believe A Word does a solid job of including a variety of musical influences without ever seeming fragmented.
