BY James KeastPublished Jun 22, 2008

Debate rages between penniless musicians, litigious lobbyists and freedom loving libertarians over Canada’s proposed copyright legislation bill C-61; it’s such a confusing mess of conflicting interests it’s hard to keep facts from fuming. The Appropriation Art collective (appropriationart.ca) makes it easy with a downloadable nine-page interactive comic featuring all the major players, from Barenaked Ladies’ Stephen Page to Heritage Minister Bev Oda. The genius comes from embedded links to almost 200 websites, blogs and newspaper articles that lead to every quote and argument, and to each one’s counter-perspective. The Appropriation Art collective have condemned the American-style legislation, but this is your opportunity to self-educate and make your own decisions.
