Common Announces 'Nobody Smiling' Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 6, 2014

A full year ago, long-running hip-hop performer Common sat down on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and promised a new EP, mixtape and album in 2013. None of those things surfaced, but he's now announced some upcoming musical projects once again.

Speaking with Revolt TV, Common reveals that his new album is called Nobody Smiling. The release, which follows 2011's The Dreamer, The Believer, was produced by the venerable No I.D.

In the interview, which can be viewed below, Common said that 2014 will be "one of my greatest times in music," adding, "I feel excited about the project that I'm working on. It's called Nobody Smiling and it's an album that originally I was making an EP but, we've just been making a lot of songs — myself and No I.D. — and I liked the direction."

Stay tuned for more information on Nobody Smiling as it becomes available.
