Hip-hop heads searching for the behind-the-scenes stories behind their favourite rappers got a literary treat earlier this month via Jay-Z's autobiography, Decoded. Clearly there's a market for MC memoirs these days, seeing as Chicago, IL rhymer Common has just announced a tome of his own.
XXL points to an Associated Press report that explains that the rapper will be collaborating with Adam Bradley, who recently edited The Anthology of Rap, to tell the world about Common's rise from Chi-town youth to celebrated spitter.
The book, to be named One Day It'll All Make Sense, after his 1997 album of the same name, will be released next June.
While it's too soon to say what will pop up in his autobiography, we're hoping Common clears the air about a number of things. Between altering his name from Common Sense to Common, his romantic relationship with Erykah Badu, a bizarre early beef with Ice Cube and, perhaps most interestingly, shooting the shit out of some cyborgs in Terminator: Salvation, we're betting he's got yarns for years.
